Who Are We?

The Pennine Orca Sub Aqua Club was founded in 1995 by a group of divers who were originally with Robin Hood Watersports ( RoHo ), which is a premiere school for the British Sub Aqua Club ( BSAC ). Most of the dives organised by Ro-Ho were for training purposes, but any qualified member was welcome to attend. After discussion with Ro-Ho it was decided to start a new club, which would run alongside of Ro Ho and take divers with a qualification of Sports diver and above, this led to the formation of Pennine Orca. In the years that Pennine Orca has been running the membership has grown to a maximum of 65 members with 40% of these being regular participants on the club trips. Each year we get trips to places like The Red Sea ( This is in conjunction with Ro-Ho ), Ireland, Scotland, Wales and the East Coast. Diving is varied in each location but a quick word with any member should leave you in no dowt as to which trip is the one for you. Pennine Orca is not just a diving club we also have a very good social committee who organise things like White Water Rafting, Treasure Hunt, Meat Raffle ( this is on Thursday evenings when we meet ) and The Annual Diner Dance. Pennine Orca members have a get together every Thursday night ( from 2100Hrs ) at The Black Bull, Birstall, on the outskirts of Bradford, come along and be welcomed into a friendly club either as a diving member or a social member, there's plenty to do in or out of the water.
